The family includes systems with 100, 200, 400, and 550 W power output.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Morgan Hill, Calif.-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therobotreport.com\/tag\/applied-motion-products\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">company<\/a> said this product line supports pulse train-based control methods including Pulse\/Direction, CW\/CCW, and encoder following. It also supports RS-485, CANopen, and EtherCAT.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Applied Motion Products (AMP) said it offers packages with electromagnetic brakes &#8220;to meet the safety requirements of today&#8217;s industries and will soon provide STO [safe torque off].&#8221; The company claimed that its MDX+ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therobotreport.com\/category\/actuators-motors-servos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">servo<\/a> series is suitable for manufacturers in logistics, automated guided vehicle (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.therobotreport.com\/category\/robots-platforms\/agv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AGV<\/a>), medical, semiconductor, packaging, textile, electronic inspection, and solar industries, among others.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-568305\" src=\"https:\/\/www.therobotreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/RSE24_728x90_RegOpen_Vs1.jpg\" alt=\"SITE AD for the 2024 Robotics Summit registration.\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.roboticssummit.com\/\">Learn from Agility Robotics, Amazon, Disney, Teradyne and many more.<\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Applied Motion Products shares servo specs<\/h2>\n<p>AMP said it designed the MDX+ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.applied-motion.com\/s\/global-search\/mdx%2B?measurement=Imperial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> to be small and compact. This way, it is smaller but as capable as stand-alone motor and drive systems, it asserted.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.applied-motion.com\/s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">company<\/a> added that this design, which is at least 20% smaller than that of standalone solutions, can be helpful for applications with limited installation space.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The MDX+ servo drive is debugged by Luna software. AMP said Luna can assist users with configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting the MDX+ family. The software and drive are connected via USB for fast and reliable communications.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Applied Motion Products listed the following features of the MDX+ family:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drive and motor integration offers a compact design<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Main power supports 24-60 VDC, Auxiliary power supports 24 VDC<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Standardized frame sizes of 40\/60\/80mm, covering a power range 100W to 550W<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EtherCAT, CANopen and RS-485 options<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Equipped with a 17-bit magnetic incremental encoder or 17-bit batteryless absolute encoder<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accurate positioning and control<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support position, velocity, and torque controls<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Built-in brake option is available<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IP20 or IP65 options available<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Founded in 1978, Applied Motion Products said it manufactures high-performance motion-control components for OEMs for a broad range of applications. In 2014, the company formed a joint venture with Moons\u2019 Shanghai, a leader in motion control and intelligent lighting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>AMP said the partnership enables it to provide its customers with supply chain reliability and vertical integration.
